A Cowichan Station resident says she was put in a tough position earlier this month, when BC Hydro gave her the choice to switch from her analog metre to a new digital one, or have power disconnected.
Dorothea Banman says she is upset with the way the situation was handled.
BC Hydro says changing out old metres are as necessary as changing old poles and power lines. Spokesperson Ted Olynyk says the decision to move forward with digital metres is out of their hands.
Measurement Canada is responsible for ensuring that businesses and consumers receive fair and accurate measure in financial transactions involving goods and services.
