New Study Looks At Nearly 700 Victoria Youth Over A Decade

Balancing school, work and life is causing major health related issues in Canadian youth, according to new research.
University of Victoria and Island Health did a unique 10-year study of nearly 700 youth between 12 and 18.
Dr. Richard Stanwick is a co-author and Chief Medical Officer for Island Health. He says many youth in this study were found to be juggling education, work, lack of sleep, mental health issues and relationship problems.
Stanwick says the study carries an important message about the need for better support to improve youth self-care, promote health and reduce stress.
