Apprenticeship training moves online

Level 1 of the apprenticeship baker program at VIU will soon be offered to students online.

Rita Gower, an instructor at Vancouver Island University says it will mean less disruption for the students in the program…..

The apprentices will be able to continue working while they take the training as well and because of that it will take them 20 weeks to get through, what is normally 4 weeks of full time classroom work.

The new program consists of assignments and detailed video demonstrations.
