Tom Rutherford is the new Cowichan Watershed Board Coordinator.
Rutherford is a fisheries biologist, and has worked with the federal government for the last 36 years in Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
He says there is a wide variety of challenges the board will continue to look at like water storage, and exploring tools that will be available through the new Water Sustainability Act.
