School District Appoints New Director of Aboriginal Education

Cowichan Valley District Principal Denise Augustine will take on a new role as Director of Aboriginal Education and Learner Engagement.
Board Chair Candace Spilsbury says they have every confidence that Augustine has the leadership capacity to accomplish the goal of making Aboriginal Education a top priority and improving aboriginal student success in Cowichan schools.
Denise Augustine was the District Principal of Aboriginal Education since 2013, and was the District Vice Principal for two years. She also served as Curriculum Coordinator of Aboriginal Education and a teacher in the district for ten years.
