Remembrance Day in Cowichan

The Duncan Legion is asking families in the community to teach children about the importance of Remembrance Day and its meaning.
Volunteer Wendy Patterson says children learn the basics at school, but its also important for parents to talk to their kids about the sacrifices these men and women made at home, and bring them out to the local ceremonies.
The ceremony in Duncan takes place at the Charles Hoey Cenotaph, with the parade forming up at 10:30 and the ceremony starting at 11.
Other events are taking place in Chemainus, Cobble Hill, Ladysmith, Lake Cowichan and Salt Spring Island.
