Diver Makes A Big Find Off BC Coast

A diver and the owner of the Union Bay Diving shop found something he wasn’t looking for while in the waters near Haida Gwaii.
Sean Smyrichinsky says he and a friend were diving for sea cucumbers when he found what appeared to be a long-lost nuclear bomb from a U-S Air Force bomber that crashed over B-C in 1950.
The Canadian Navy has deployed a ship to explore the site and confirm if the object is in fact the nuclear bomb.
