Auditor General Looks at BC’s Recycling System

The Office of the Auditor General of B.C. says the government is working to improve the recycling system in the province.
Auditor General, Carol Bellringer says over the past year her office took a look at the system, which, she says is relatively new.
She says the government is aware of some shortfalls and is working to make improvements….
B.C. makes those who manufacture, distribute, or sell products responsible for recycling them and that shifts costs from taxpayers and local governments to producers, and creates a financial incentive for producers to be more sustainable with the materials they make.
