RCMP pick up suspect in good samaritan stabbing incident

A man has been arrested in connection to a string of crimes including the stabbing of a good samaritan who stopped to help near Oceanside back on September 21st.
That incident, which has resulted in aggravated assault charges, happened when a 55 year old man came upon a broken down vehicle near Exit 60 on Highway 19 and tried to help.
He was attacked, stabbed repeatedly in the chest and then left at the roadside by the suspect who took off in the victim’s truck.
31 year old Jeffrey Brian MacDonald has been charged with nine criminal code charges stemming from a string of armed robberies, auto thefts and the aggravated assault.
The offences happened during a 2 week period in September and took place throughout Nanaimo, Oceanside and Ladysmith.
