Two Pedestrians Struck While Crossing Canada Ave in Duncan

A woman and a young girl are in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Downtown Duncan.
The 47 year old woman and 10 year old girl were on a crosswalk on Canada Avenue around 5:15pm Tuesday when they were struck by a northbound Toyota Minivan, driven by a 69 year old woman.
Both pedestrians were taken to hospital immediately, with the young girl being flown to BC Children’s Hospital.
The driver of the van was not injured, stayed at the scene and is co-operating with police.
RCMP are reminding road users that weather and visibility are poor, and to use extra caution while using crosswalks and approaching them in a vehicle.
