Good times for construction

Residential and non-residential construction is continuing at a record pace.
Greg Baynton, CEO of the Vancouver Island Construction Association says, in the Cowichan Valley, the year to date total building permits increased 17 per cent to 103 point 7 million dollars with most of that being for residential construction….
Island wide, construction employment rose in the third quarter by 3,400 people to 38,500, although most of that gain was in Victoria.
Baynton says a byproduct of demand is increased costs with non-residential building costs increasing 4 point 2 per cent year over year.
