Family of cougars living in Nanaimo park

A family of cougars has moved into Woodstream Park in Nanaimo’s Departure Bay neighbourhood.
BC Conservation Officer Troy Sterling says an adult female, 3 kittens and another young adult cat are living in the area.
He says, for now, the cats are being monitored……
Warning signs have been posted around the Park.
Vancouver Island has the highest percentage of cougars per capita in North America.
Sterling says of the 4,000 cats in North America, Vancouver Island has about 1200.
