Cowichan Valley School District Superintendent Rod Allen and Board Chair Candace Spilsbury were guest speakers at the Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce to speak to guests about the new curriculum and the connection between education and the economy.
Rod Allen says the school district is a big economic driver in the community, employing over 11-hundred staff including 555 teachers. He adds that educating Cowichan youth is an important part of the local economy.
Allen says the local school district also promotes living and shopping within the community.
