BC Releases Report on Deaths Caused by Domestic Violence

An average of 12 women are killed every year in domestic violence situations in BC.
The province released a report and recommendations by a panel that looked into 100 deaths caused by domestic violence between 2010 and 2015. Jane Sterk is the Executive Director of the Cowichan Women Against Violence Society.
The panel made recommendations aimed at increasing public awareness of intimate partner violence and how best to respond, strengthening safety planning and case management; and enhancing collaboration and information sharing.
