ICBC aims to keep rates low by cracking down on fraud

I-C-B-C is looking to cut down on insurance fraud claims.

The insurance company has come out with a new high tech tool designed to detect fraud quicker.

Head of I-C-B-C’s Special Investigations Unit Chris Fairbridge says the tool will allow investigators more time to focus on their investigation.

Fairbridge says the new tool will track information and provide results in real time to officers.

Three years of data ran through the tool, which conducted 3300 alerts. 50 new investigations have been opened up as result, and more are expected to follow.
