SD79 Feeling Encouraged After Meeting With Education Minister

The Cowichan Valley School Board invited local leaders from Cowichan Tribes, Duncan and North Cowichan to participate in a meeting with Education Minister Mike Bernier about the importance of a new Cowichan Secondary School.
Board Chair Candace Spilsbury says representatives from VIU were also there to discuss the community’s vision.
Spilsbury says the Minister praised the community for working closely together, and said the district should hear by Spring whether the school will see an upgrade or be replaced.
