Residents are being reminded about managing attractants to avoid attracting bears.
Deputy Chief Chris Doyle says some bears, especially on the south coast, haven’t gone into hibernation despite the cold weather.
Doyle notes that it is an offense to feed bears and to negligently store attractants.
