Two-vehicle accident sends one person to hospital

A two-vehicle-accident on Bench Road and the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) Thursday morning resulted in one person going to hospital.

Cpl. Krista Hobday media liaison for Duncan-North Cowichan RCMP said a woman driving a minivan southbound on the TCH, she attempted to make a left turn onto Bench, but, because her view was partially blocked by a northbound vehicle also turning left, she did not see an approaching pick-up truck and when she turned the truck rammed into her.

Traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions on the Trans-Canada Highway for about half-an-hour while crews attended to the victims.
