A rainfall warning is in effect for east Vancouver Island.
Environment Canada says a strong Pacific front is moving in and will result in a prolonged period of heavy rain.
East Vancouver Island will see local rainfall amounts up to 90 millimeters by Thursday morning.
The heavy rain will taper off Thursday afternoon as the front moves eastward out of the area.
