Consultations to start with taxi and ride sharing industry

The province is looking to level the playing field for the taxi industry by introducing a number of improvements.
Besides the development of Apps, crash prevention technology, access across municipal boundaries, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister, Todd Stone says taxis and ride sharing providers will have to operate by the same rules…..
All drivers will have to have an unrestricted driver s licence, pass a criminal record check, a safe driving record check and vehicles will have to have passed regular mechanical inspections.
