$35,000 for elder care

Plans for an elder care co-op in the Cowichan are a step closer to reality.

Cowichan Co-operative Connections and Volunteer Cowichan are getting a 35 thousand dollar grant.

Roger Hart, with Cowichan Co-operative Connections says the money will be used to begin the process of establishing an elder care co-op which would help seniors with day-to-day tasks so they can stay in their own homes.

He says the services seniors need to stay in their own homes are pretty basic…..

He says the 35 thousand dollars will be used to begin the business process and organizational planning, consultations with stakeholders and incorporation.
