There are a couple of properties on Allenby Road and in the Electoral F Division, or at south Cowichan Lake that are at the greatest risk of landslides in the Cowichan Valley.
That’s according to the CVRD’s Manager of Community and Regional Planning Mike Tippett.
However, Tippett says landslides here would most likely happen in some regions along the Cowichan River and would be the result of high water eroding the bank and there are some homes and businesses that could be affected.
Tippett says the homeowners and business owners who have property in the affected areas know about the problem.
In areas in the Cowichan where potential problems, like landslides and falling rocks have been identified development, Tippett says, is frozen.
