The question Duncan City Council may have on the November ballot with regards to amalgamation has been determined.
It’s, “Are you in favour of spending, some amount of dollars, to study the options, costs and benefits for the amalgamation or restructuring of the municipalities of North Cowichan and Duncan?”
The question is as such because, essentially, council figured, the first step should be to seek the public’s opinion on whether they were in favour of spending money to study the options, costs, and benefits for restructuring or amalgamation first.
The decision on a firm amalgamation question will be forwarded to the next regular Duncan council meeting and to the council of North Cowichan for approval before it’s a done deal.
