Tilray is now a Licensed Producer, so the Nanaimo-based company can start selling medical marijuana to patients.

They’ve set up a production facility in Nanaimo, and Philippe Lucas, Vice President of Patient Research and Services, says their online store opens Monday.

Lucas says getting their license from Health Canada was a long and bureaucratic process.

Lucas says in the 15 years he’s been working in the medical marijuana industry, he’s never seen so much time, energy and resources put into meeting the needs of Canadian patients.

He says they hope to supply between 2000 and 4000 medical marijuana users within their first year of operations.
