Norovirus confirmed at Cowichan Lodge

The Vancouver Island Health Authority has confirmed norovirus has struck the Cowichan Lodge.

The outbreak is in the seniors wing only, there is no sign of it in the adult wing of the facility.

Less than half a dozen residents are showing symptoms, no staff are showing symptoms at this point.

Family members have been contacted and asked not to visit if possible, until the outbreak is declared over.

An enhanced cleaning process is in place in an effort to help prevent the spread of the virus.
