New ferry schedules today

Changes to the BC Ferry schedule begin today.

16 routes will be affected by service reductions, including Crofton to Vesuvius and the Chemainus-Thetis-Penelekut runs.

BC Ferries spokesperson Darin Guenette says they have worked with community stakeholders to create a best possible scenario.

The changes are being introduced to help the Corporation achieve $19-million in savings as outlined by the BC government to create what the province calls “an affordable, sustainable and efficient system.”
