ORIGINAL POST:
A 40 year old man is in police custody after a scary incident near Cowichan Secondary School’s Quamichan campus.

A 14 year old girl was on her way to school and reported she was forced into a nearby business, where a man began to sexually assault her. The girl broke free from her attacker, fled the area, and reported the incident immediately to school staff.

The Cowichan Valley School District say the girl is being offered supports following the incident. Superintendent Rod Allen says buses will be available to shuttle students between the two campuses.

There will also be extra supervision at lunch time and RCMP will increase their presence around the area after school.
