RCMP preliminary hearing to wrap up today

The preliminary hearing for a North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP memberĀ facing chargesĀ in relation to a car crash back in 2012 should wrap up in a Duncan courtroom today (Thurs).

Constable Blake CrossĀ is facingĀ dangerous driving charges.

2 years ago in June, Cross was on his way to a call when the marked car he was inĀ struckĀ a car at the intersection of Trans Canada and Miller Road.

A 23 year old woman was sent to the hospital with significant injuries, and both vehicles involved in the crash were destroyed.

The Saanich police departmentĀ were in charge ofĀ an independent investigationĀ into the crash.
