Local MP Hosts Agriculture Town Hall

The MP for Cowichan Malahat Langford is hosting an Agriculture Town Hall Meeting on Friday.
Alistair MacGregor says he is looking for input from the community as the federal government begins developing its first ever food policy.
As a small scale farmer himself, and after hearing from other local farmers, MacGregor believes people want to see more importance placed on local farming.
The food policy will revolve around the following four themes – increasing access to affordable food; improving health and food safety; conserving our soil, water, and air; and growing more high-quality food.
Ag Critic MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau was originally slated to attend the event, but could no longer make it. The meeting is being held at the Island Savings Centre on Friday at 5:30pm.
