Nanaimo shooting suspect back in court May 13

The City of Nanaimo and the Nanaimo Port Authority are lowering their flags to half-mast for one week in honour of the victims of Wednesday’s shooting at a Western Forest Products Mill.

In the meantime, the man facing charges in Wednesday’s deadly shooting at the Mill has made a court appearance.

47 year old Kevin Douglas Addison, who is facing two charges of first degree murder and two of attempted murder, was remanded in custody.

He will be back in court May 13th.

The family of the man charged in connection to the fatal shooting Wednesday morning at the Western Forest Products mill in Nanaimo have released a statement.

In it, they say they are saddened and devastated at the events that took place in the community.

They express their condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of the two men who were shot and extend wishes to the two men who were injured as they recover.
