Search resumes for missing man

The Search for 35-year old Rodney Mackinnon has resumed. Lake Cowichan RCMP suspended the search Wednesday to follow up on a tip Mackinnon had been spotted; that tip proved to be false.

Tina Philips from Cowichan Search and Rescue said teams are now moving to a stage two “grid” search of the area where Mackinnon’s vehicle was found.

The search efforts have received a boost as Search and Rescue teams from Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Metchosin, Jaun de Fuca and Saanich have joined in.

Mackinnon was last May 1st.
