RCMP officer faces charges

A Nanaimo RCMP officer has been charged with dangerous driving following a police pursuit in Duncan in February of 2016.

Constable David Buchanan, who was on duty, was involved in a police pursuit of an individual on a motorized scooter.

The operator of the scooter suffered injuries in the incident.
The case was investigated by the Independent Investigation Office which determined the officer may have committed an offence.
Buchanan’s first court appearance is August 1st in Duncan.
