Police believe abducted girls and their mother headed for Nanaimo

Police and B.C. ferries are on the look-out for a 48 year old woman accused of abducting her children from a school near Vulcan, Alberta.

The kids, two girls, 12 year old Telisha Meisel and 6 year old Taya Meisel were missing from their school following recess yesterday (Mon) morning.

Constable Greg Hendry says the girls mother, Trina Meisel does not have legal guardianship of the children and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Police figure the woman may be headed to Nanaimo with her daughters.

Hendry says it is believed the mother and daughters would be traveling in a 2007 black Honda CRV with the Alberta license O-R-N-R-S-E.

He says the mother has red hair, closely shaved except for bangs, is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs around one hundred and 90 pounds.

Investigators do not believe the children are in immediate danger and that’s why an Amber Alert has not been issued.
