Staff at a number of Island Health sites have responded to several calls in the past few days of animals in vehicles.
As a result, spokesperson Adrienne Breen says Island Health is reminding pet owners to leave their animals at home when attending hospitals, health care centres and other medical facilities.
She says appointments at health care centres care can take longer than anticipated…..
If you see an animal in distress, Breen says to call the BC SPCA.
