CVRD hires new GM of Planning and Development

The Cowichan Valley Regional District has hired a new General Manager of Planning and Development.

Ross Blackwell, currently the Manager for Land Use Services for the City of Campbell River will be on the job effective June 30th.

He will be replacing Tom Anderson, who recently retired from the regional district.

The General Manager of the Planning and Development is responsible for providing leadership for all the functions of the Department including community and regional planning, development services, parks and trails, environmental initiatives, economic development, along with building inspection and bylaw enforcement.

Blackwell has nearly twenty five years of experience in community development in both the private and public sectors.
