Chemainus Water System Notification

The Chemainus Water System has two sources, and as of October 15, the Chemainus River wells are going to provide water system users with their water.
This water system will revert back to the Banon Creek supply on June 16, 2018, but the Municipality of North Cowichan is trying to amend the B.C. Environmental Assessment Certificate, whereby the well-water supply would be used year-round.
The municipality has been monitoring the flow and groundwater levels on the Chemainus River for more than eleven years.
Last summer, the municipality added additional testing to bolster its amendment application.
The Municipality of North Cowichan is interested in your written input on its goal of gaining approval to operate the Chemainus River wells year-round.
