Cowichan Bay causeway breach late summer

Participants in the talks to breach the causeway at the Westcan Terminal in Cowichan Bay are getting closer to having the work done.
Cowichan Estuary Restoration and Conservation Association Board Chair, Goetz Schuerholz ….
Schuerholz says negotiations are still in play with the parties involved but they are close to a deal.
They need to determine issues like what kind of bridge will need to be built over the breach and whether or not Westcan will contribute to the project in some form.
Breaching the causeway would go a long way toward restoring the habitat in the area.
