The Cowichan Valley Is Napa North

There’s more to Vancouver Island than Victoria, Tofino, and Ucluelet and the 300 kilometre Pacific Marine Circle gives tourists and locals the opportunity to peruse it at their own pace.
Tourism Victoria has partnered with the other tourism bodies throughout the island to develop a marketing program to sell the regions lesser known, but equally stunning spots, like the Cowichan Valley.
Executive Director with Cowichan Tourism, Karen Elgursma says this route will whet the appetite of tourists, no matter what they’re into.
Elgursma says after a recent conversation with the senior editor of Napa Valley News in California’s famous wine country, the term “Napa North” was coined, referring to the Cowichan Valley.

That same senior editor called the Cowichan Valley, “The Napa Valley, 20 years ago.”
