More Money For Children And The Working Poor Promised By Feds

(Trudeau Economic Update 10-24-17 WG)

The Trudeau government is going to show the country its “sunny ways” later this afternoon when  Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau gives his fall economic update.

It’s expected there will be more money for children and the working poor and predictions of shrinking federal deficits.

But even with a growing economy, sources say Morneau won’t predict when the books will be balanced.

The Trudeau government has high hopes for its announcements today as Morneau battles his own public relations nightmare.

Morneau has been the subject of conflict of interest allegations about his substantial personal wealth and holdings he failed to put into a blind trust when he became a cabinet minister.

The fall economic update is expected this afternoon at 4:00 ET.
