More Time Granted for High School Curriculum

A good education is more important now than ever before.
On October 24,  Education Minister, Rob Fleming announced that staff, school districts, and post-secondary institutions will have one more year to prepare the new grade 11-12 curriculum.
The decision comes on the heels of feedback from educators in the K-12 sector, along with colleges and universities.
It’s important to ensure the curriculum aligns with admission requirements and processes of post-secondary institutions.
The extra year is a win for students, as teachers will have more time to develop instructional material and assessment resources.
The new curriculum will be used in all classrooms in the province starting in September 2019.
