Passenger only ferry service between Vancouver and Nanaimo takes a step forward

The plan for passenger only service between Vancouver and Nanaimo has taken another step forward.
Island Ferries is looking to lease a berth at the SeaBus Terminal in Vancouver and should know by December whether or not the plan pans out.
The company already has a deal to lease space with the Nanaimo Port Authority.
Spokesperson David Marshall says the company has two new vessels coming in May but hasn’t spent a lot of money on infrastructure to support their service yet……
Marshall says the hope is, to have the ferry service, between Nanaimo and Vancouver, up and running in the summer of 2018.
