The Cowichan Valley Basket Society is pleased with last week’s food drive despite a smaller haul.
The Society’s manager, Colleen Fuller says over five hundred pounds of food was collected.
She says they usually get over four times that amount during the Christmas drive, however every pound counts.
Fuller says the food bank’s hamper program serves well over a thousand people a month in the Cowichan Valley who are less fortunate, while the soup kitchen feeds over one hundred per day.
