The on-line consultation processĀ on the legalization and regulation of non-medical cannabis is now complete.
The province says it was one of theĀ most engaging in B.C.’s history with anĀ unprecedented number of people sharing their opinions.
After five weeks of being live, the website saw almost 128,000Ā visits, with more than 48,000 residentsĀ filling out the feedback form providing their views on topics such as minimum age, personal possession limits, public consumption, drug-impaired driving, personal cultivation, and distribution and retail models.
800 opinions were receivedĀ through a random telephone survey and 130 written submissions were made from organizations including local governments, school districts, the cannabis industry, advocacy groups and law enforcement.
Over the next few weeks, the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General will review and analyze the feedback received and create a summary report on what was heard that will eventually be made available to the public.
