Hydro rates frozen

The province is freezing BC Hydro rates.
BC Hydro rates have gone up by more than 24 per cent in the last four years, and by more than 70 per cent since 2001.
In 2016, BC Hydro applied to the BC Utilities Commission for three years of increases, with a 3 per cent  increase planned next year.
The province says, however, that’s not on.
The rate freeze will give the government the time to undertake a comprehensive review of BC Hydro to identify changes and cost savings to keep rates low.
