Furstenau Delivers Petitions to Victoria

To amalgamate or relocate to Mill Bay, that is the contentious question for Shawnigan Lake residents.
Cowichan Valley Green Party M.L.A., Sonia Furstenau delivered a petition to the legislature in Victoria on Thursday, in the hope of keeping R.C.M.P. services in the South Cowichan.
The former Christy Clark government decided to shelf plans for a new building in the Shawnigan Lake area, even though the C.V.R.D. bought a one-hectare parcel of land in Mill Bay to help with the project.
Solicitor General, Mike Farnworth holds all the cards and at the end of October, Area A Director, Kerry Davis told Juice F.M., Farnworth “still had to be won over” on the issue.
The decision is expected later this month.
