The Malahat Nation’s economy looks to be on the upswing thanks to an aquaculture centre, boat-ramp boardwalk and timber harvesting.

In particular, Malahat elders chief Michael Harry says the aquaculture project could see more than 20 million dollars invested into South Cowichan’s economy.

Harry outlined the plans in last week’s opening of Malahat’s cultural resource centre.

We asked him what are some of the benefits of the new facility.
