The North Cowichan Council has heard they’ll have an additional $416,000 in gas tax fund money for 2014.
They plan to create a new reserve fund for any surplus Gas Tax funds that will be tapped as eligible projects come up.
Mayor Jon Lefebure says besides the increase in funding, some of the restrictions on what the money can be spent on have been lifted
North Cowichan is slated to get more than $1.2 million in Gas Tax money in 2014.
