Estuaries top topic at symposium

The effect of climate change on coastal communities and estuaries will be the focus of a symposium at the Cowichan Campus of the Vancouver Island University.
Dr. Goetz Schuerholz of the Cowichan Estuary Restoration and Conservation Association says the symposium starts this Saturday (June 14)…..
Following the symposium a large panel discussion by representatives of all the estuary groups on the Island and beyond will be held.
It’s hoped an Estuary Alliance can be formed on Vancouver Island.
Schuerholz says that organization would act as a single, stronger voice to lobby for the interests of estuaries.
