Strike vote today and tomorrow

We’re about to be hit by another round of rotating teacher walkouts, as the BCTF votes today and tomorrow whether or not to go to a full scale strike. And the group representing parents in the province says it’s time for both sides to back down.

The BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils says the “feud”, as they call it, is hurting the most vulnerable students and causing financial hardship for struggling families.

Angie Carlyle of Qualicum is a director with the Confederation.

The BCTF says Nanaimo-Ladysmith and Cowichan teachers will stage their next walkout this Wednesday.
