If you love your pets, leave them at home, and not in a parked vehicle.
So says the manager of the Cowichan and district branch of the BC SPCA — Sandi Trent.
Trent says the RCMP and a Criminal Investigation’s Department constable are legally allowed to remove a pet from a vehicle.
She adds if somebody does leave their pet in a vehicle they could be facing charges under the prevention of cruelty to animals act.
